Pillar guide

The best UK automation consultancies in 2026

Category-by-category ranking. Honest about what each firm does well, who they fit, and where their commercial model creates a bias. Written by Watermelon — partial, but transparent.

How to read this ranking

This is written by Watermelon. We are one of the firms ranked. We have a conflict of interest. So here's how we've tried to keep it honest:

  1. No overall ranking. Different consultancies fit different buyers. An overall 'best UK automation consultancy' ranking is a meaningless category. Instead we rank by category — each firm wins in the area they're genuinely strongest.
  2. Verifiable facts only. Partner statuses are taken from the official directories (Zapier Solution Partner Directory, Make Partner Directory, HubSpot Solutions Marketplace, Google Cloud Partner Directory). Team sizes, locations, and trading history from each firm's own public materials.
  3. Transparency about commercial models. Where a firm has partner commissions, we say so. That isn't a criticism — partner commissions are a normal industry model — but buyers should understand who's incentivised by what.
  4. Update cadence. We'll review annually. Partner statuses and team sizes change.

If we got something wrong about any firm, email charlie@itswatermelon.com and we'll fix it.

The full list (alphabetical)

AutomateNow

  • URL: automatenow.uk
  • Geography: UK
  • Platform allegiance: HubSpot (Diamond Partner — third-highest tier above Gold and Platinum)
  • Partner commissions: Yes, HubSpot Diamond recurring
  • Best for: UK SMEs who've committed to HubSpot and want a Diamond-tier UK partner without going up to Elite pricing.
  • Limitations: 'Automation' branding overstates the platform breadth — substance is HubSpot. Cannot recommend leaving HubSpot.
  • Pricing: Project + retainer (not public).
  • Watermelon's take: Solid HubSpot mid-market partner. Sized appropriately for SMEs. Worth a call if you're HubSpot-anchored.
  • Full comparison: Watermelon vs AutomateNow.

Cobry

  • URL: cobry.co.uk
  • Geography: UK (Glasgow HQ), founded 2013
  • Platform allegiance: Google Cloud Premier Partner
  • Partner commissions: Yes, Google
  • B-Corp: Yes
  • Best for: UK businesses anchored on Google Workspace where the automation problem lives near Google (Apps Script, AppSheet, Looker).
  • Limitations: Google-estate worldview — limited reach if your bottleneck is in CRM, billing, finance or vertical SaaS.
  • Pricing: Project + managed services.
  • Watermelon's take: The strongest Google Workspace consultancy in the UK. The only question is whether your problem actually lives in Google.
  • Full comparison: Watermelon vs Cobry.

Flowmondo

  • URL: flowmondo.com
  • Geography: UK (East Midlands HQ), founded 2012
  • Platform allegiance: Zapier Platinum Solution Partner; also Make.com, Xano, n8n, Pipedrive
  • Partner commissions: Yes, Zapier Platinum recurring
  • Best for: UK ecommerce and DTC brands needing Zapier-led automation with a partner that has 13+ years of trading history and a thick ecommerce reference base.
  • Limitations: Heavy ecommerce vertical — non-ecom businesses are second-shape accounts.
  • Pricing: Project + retainer (not public).
  • Watermelon's take: If you're ecommerce and want a Zapier-Platinum UK partner with longevity, Flowmondo is a credible default.
  • Full comparison: Watermelon vs Flowmondo.

Huble

  • URL: huble.com
  • Geography: Global (UK office among 7 countries)
  • Platform allegiance: HubSpot Elite Partner; multiple-year HubSpot Global Partner of the Year
  • Partner commissions: Yes, HubSpot Elite
  • Size: 175+ staff
  • Best for: Multi-region enterprise HubSpot rollouts. Engagement values £100k+.
  • Limitations: Sized for enterprise — UK SMEs at 10–80 staff are small accounts with junior delivery.
  • Pricing: Project + retainer (enterprise).
  • Watermelon's take: Best-in-class HubSpot Elite for enterprise. Overkill for most UK SMEs.
  • Full comparison: Watermelon vs Huble.

Luhhu

  • URL: luhhu.com
  • Geography: UK (Great Yarmouth registered, remote)
  • Platform allegiance: Zapier Gold Solution Partner
  • Partner commissions: Yes, Zapier Gold
  • Size: Boutique, founder-led (under 10)
  • Best for: Founder-led Zapier specialism. UK buyers wanting Andrew Davison's personal attention on bounded Zapier projects.
  • Limitations: Founder-dependent (bus-factor of one). Zapier-only specialism limits multi-platform engagements.
  • Pricing: Project, public day rate ranges (rare in the market).
  • Watermelon's take: The strongest founder-led UK Zapier brand. Great pick for bounded projects; less suited to embedded multi-platform work.
  • Full comparison: Watermelon vs Luhhu.

makeitfuture

  • URL: makeitfuture.com
  • Geography: London office, France/Romania delivery
  • Platform allegiance: Make.com Platinum Partner; 'AI Partner of the Year 2025'
  • Partner commissions: Yes, Make.com Platinum
  • Security: ISO 27001 certified
  • Best for: Enterprise Make.com implementations needing scale, security review readiness and Platinum-tier Make depth.
  • Limitations: Make-anchored worldview. UK presence is registered London office; delivery is mainland European.
  • Pricing: Project + retainer; agency rates.
  • Watermelon's take: Largest Make.com partner in Europe by their description. Right answer if your workflow definitely belongs in Make and you're enterprise-shaped.
  • Full comparison: Watermelon vs makeitfuture.

Six & Flow

  • URL: sixandflow.com
  • Geography: UK (Manchester)
  • Platform allegiance: HubSpot Elite Partner (2nd UK Elite, 1st outside London)
  • Partner commissions: Yes, HubSpot Elite
  • Size: Mid-large (40+)
  • HubSpot accreditations: Six — Onboarding, Custom Integration, Data Migration, CRM Implementation, Solutions Architecture, Content Experience
  • Best for: B2B SaaS RevOps and mid-market HubSpot rollouts. UK Elite tier without going global.
  • Limitations: Enterprise/RevOps sizing — small-SME engagements are below their sweet spot. HubSpot-anchored.
  • Pricing: Project + retainer.
  • Watermelon's take: Strongest UK-focused HubSpot Elite. The only meaningful gap is independence from HubSpot commission economics.
  • Full comparison: Watermelon vs Six & Flow.

Solvaa

  • URL: solvaa.co.uk
  • Geography: UK
  • Platform allegiance: Zapier Platinum Solution Partner, Pipedrive Authorized Partner, SmartSuite Certified, multiple Xero accreditations
  • Partner commissions: Yes, multiple platforms
  • Authority signals: Founder Kelly Goss authored Automate It with Zapier; briefed No.10 Downing Street and the House of Lords on SME automation
  • Best for: UK SMEs with a Zapier-Pipedrive-Xero stack wanting the most-credentialled Zapier consultancy.
  • Limitations: Multi-platform partner badges = multi-platform commercial alignment. Less natural fit for HubSpot/Salesforce/n8n-anchored businesses.
  • Pricing: Project + retainer.
  • Watermelon's take: Strongest UK Zapier authority brand. The book and government briefings are genuine credentials.
  • Full comparison: Watermelon vs Solvaa.

Watermelon

  • URL: itswatermelon.com (this site)
  • Geography: London, UK
  • Platform allegiance: None — deliberately independent
  • Partner commissions: Zero
  • Size: Boutique team
  • Best for: UK SMEs at 10–200 staff wanting platform-independent advice, fractional Chief Automation Officer leadership, flat-fee pricing with public bands, and no commission-driven recommendations.
  • Limitations: New consultancy — shorter trading history than the established players, no Big-Five-equivalent partner accreditations, no published book (yet).
  • Pricing: Flat fee — £8k–£30k project, £5k–£15k/mo fractional CAO retainer. Public bands on every services page.
  • Why we exist: Every other firm on this list has at least one commission-funded partner relationship. That's normal. But it creates a buyer-side gap: no major UK firm could honestly tell a HubSpot/Zapier/Make/Salesforce customer 'you should downgrade or leave' even when it was true. That's the lane we built Watermelon to fill.

A note on selection criteria

Firms included met all of:

  1. Verifiable UK presence (registered UK office or UK-resident senior team).
  2. Partner directory verification where applicable.
  3. Substantive web presence — not solo freelancers with a Squarespace.
  4. Real buyer search demand (people search for them by name).

Firms we considered but excluded: solo freelancers (different category), SaaS products marketed as consultancies (Lindy, Bardeen, beSlick — products, not agencies), and several names that didn't verify to substantive UK businesses on web research.
